It is so sad for me to learn of Lydia's passing. My father, AG Strandhagen, was a professor in the same department at Notre Dame as Larry Lee. Each Thanksgiving, my parents, Lucy and Gus, would host that department of Mechanical Engineering for dinner. So our family got to know Lydia and Larry and Nora and Lynn. I adored the whole family. Lydia was a woman of grace and so lovely. I feel so fortunate to have seen her last October when my husband and I were visiting Notre Dame for the Stanford-NotreDame football game. Karen Ross

I always enjoyed my experience with Lydia as a teacher and friend. She was a wonderful colleague and cared deeply for the students she taught. I also enjoyed hearing her talk about Notre Dame football.

My condolences to Max Lee and his family. Your mom had a beautiful soul, was very kind, and had a heart of gold. I will always remember her stories when I was a student teacher in Mrs. Lee's second grade class. May God wrap His loving arms around you and your family, Max, and may He bring you great comfort in this most difficult time.
