She was generous and welcoming to my family and me for nearly 45 years. Strength to you.

Dear Linda and Warren and family,
You are in my thoughts and prayers especially today. I am so sorry to learn of "Mrs. Rocco's" passing but happy to know that she had a wonderful life and family.
I was fortunate to have found Rocco's my second week at Notre Dame! It became my home away from home from 1968 through 1972...although my mom's Irish cooking didn't quite match Rocco and Warren's. I was always treated with kindness and warmth by Julia which is something I will never forget.
All the best,
Bob

Sorry for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Linda and Warren. We were always treated like family when we came in, (then and now) that's why we loved coming into our favorite Italian restaurant. She will be dearly missed.

I met Rocco and Julia when I arrived on the ND campus as a freshman in 1975, I had been told by my family that we were distant relatives. As you might expect, Rocco and Julia embraced me as part of the family. I remember many evenings sitting with Julia and her mother slicing mushrooms for that night's pizzas. I remember meals at their home. As I think back on my ND years, Rocco and Julia were a special part. Like my grandmother, Julia was part of a special generation of people who made everyone feel like family.
My deepest condolences to the entire family.

Aunt Julia was a special lady whom we'll never forget. The traditions, the sound of her voice, the stories she told, the lessons she taught, her gentleness, and the love of her touch. Her delicious Easter cookies with Anisette and as a child I remember going to Bonnie Doons with my Aunt Julia and Uncle Rocco. Slicing mushrooms with Nana Rose and lots of TLC. What a BEAUTIFUL LEGACY she left to my sweet cousins and their wonderful families and to all of us, who continue the gift of love. "Life is not measured by the number of breathes we take, but by the number of moments that take our breath away". GOD BLESS Aunt Julia and her entire family. Love, Mary Grace and Ernie
