Richard S. Brosk

Richard S. Brosk, 94, of Notre Dame, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2017, at Dujarie House. He was born on May 14, 1923, in South Bend, Indiana, to the late Stanley J. and Winifred I. (Boyer) Brosk. Richard was a 1942 graduate of South Bend Central High School. He went on to receive a bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1949. Richard worked at Memorial Hospital in South Bend for 32 years as a business manager. He was very proud to be active in the Sacred Heart Parish, where he was a member since 1931. He was also a member of the South Bend Elk’s Lodge 235. Richard was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Jane Brosk Gember.  He is survived by three nieces, Chris Gember of Notre Dame, Indiana with whom he lived with, Maria Mitchell and Paula Young, both of St. Louis, Missouri; four nephews, Greg, Guy, and Ned Gember of Bloomington, Indiana and Jon Gember of Chicago, Illinois. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 31, 2017, at Our Lady of Holy Cross Chapel, Holy Cross Village, Notre Dame, Indiana. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel. Private burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Parish.
