Melvin R. Kegley

Melvin R. Kegley, 80, of New Carlisle, Indiana passed away at 11:58 a.m. Wednesday, October 4, 2017 in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, Indiana. Melvin was born on June 1, 1937 in Glendive, Montana to Joe and Stella (Conner) Kegley. He had lived in New Carlisle since 2009, coming from Billings, Montana. Melvin retired from the State of Montana Department of Transportation. On December 4, 1959 in Our Savior Lutheran Church, Glendive, Montana, he married Betty L. Weigum, who survives. He is also survived by his daughter, Kim O'Connor of Fairbanks, Alaska; his son, Todd Kegley of New Carlisle, Indiana; four grandchildren, Danielle O'Connor, Breann O'Connor, Dylan Kegley, and Dawson Kegley; one great-grandson, Kael Evans, all of whom he loved deeply; his sister, Irene Koffler of Billings, Montana; his brother, Don Kegley of Lake Stevens, Washington; and by many nieces and nephews. Melvin was preceded in death by three sisters, Grace, Hazel and Mary and four brothers, Harold, Wayne, Glen, Joe "Butch".  Private Funeral Services will take place. A Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 11, 2017 in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 201 S.
