Thomas Ted Kane

Thomas Ted Kane, 80, passed away at home on Sunday, July 25, 2021, surrounded by his family.  Thomas was born on December 8, 1940 in South Bend, to Ted and Genevieve (Slaby) Kanczuzewski.  He served as an Air Policeman in the United States Air Force from 1958 -1962. Thomas retired after 40 years as a Corporate Pilot.  He had been employed with Burcliff Industries and SBN.  On January 6, 1962, in St. Adalbert Church, he married Rita Kubasik, who survives.  He is also survived by one son, Paul his wife Mary; one daughter, Pam and her husband John; three grandchildren, Steven and his wife Rosanne, Erik and his wife Rebecca, and Scott and his wife, Elaina; and two great-grandchildren, Carter and Arianna.  A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Friday, July 30, 2021 in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, where his longtime friend Jerry, will share memories and a eulogy at 11:30 p.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. Friday in Corpus Christi Church.  Private entombment will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery.  Thomas enjoyed fast cars and boats.
