Thomas Andrew Siwik

Thomas Andrew Siwik, 48, of South Bend, Indiana passed away at 9:34 a.m.  Monday, June 10, 2024, in his home.  Thomas was born on December 8, 1975 in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Thomas S. and Christina (Champion) Siwik.  He was currently employed as a Special Education Teacher for the South Bend Community School Corporation. Thomas had been a Special Education teacher for over 20 years. On July 20, 2019, in South Bend, he married Heather L. Butkera, who survives. Thomas is also survived by two daughters, Madeline and Lily Siwik both of South Bend, Indiana; his step-son, Aidan Butkera of South Bend, Indiana; his parents, Thomas and Christina Siwik of Fairview, Michigan; his sister, Melissa (Paul) Allen of Allegan, Michigan; two brothers, David Siwik and Daniel Siwik both of Lansing, Michigan; his niece Julie Brewington; and his nephew, Holden Stiles. A Celebration of Life Service will take place at 4:00 p.m. Friday, June 14, 2024, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, Indiana, where a visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.  Thomas enjoyed model railroading and trains, fishing and gardening.  He was a huge Detroit Lions and Tigers fan, and a fan of many other sports team.  He loved being outdoors and spending time by the St. Joseph River.  What he enjoyed most was his family and friends.
