Suzanne E. Klein

Suzanne E. Klein, 70, of South Bend, IN, passed away Saturday April 24, 2021, following a brief illness.

Suzanne, “Susie”, was born on April 4, 1951 to the late Clarence J. and Helen L. (Glesmer) Klein in Mishawaka, IN, and was a lifelong area resident.  She was preceded in death by siblings Barbara (Klein) Davis, Charles Klein and Karen (Klein) Eckstein and sister-in-law Shirley Klein.

Susie graduated in 1969 from Mishawaka High School and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University South Bend in 1993.

Susie is survived by her loving brother Christopher Klein of Mishawaka and brothers, Michael Klein of Texas and Patrick Klein of Austin, Texas. 

Susie cherished spending time with her two nephews and their families, Mark (Mary) Klein of Indianapolis, IN; Brian (Pam) Klein of Fort Wayne, IN.  She is also survived by her nephews and nieces; Tim Davis, Randy Davis, Jeff Davis, Greg Davis, Rachael (Klein) Parrow and Sarah Klein-Keen. 

Susie was a phenomenal great-aunt and will be especially missed by Andrew, Meghan, Katie and Annie Klein, all of Indianapolis, IN; Maddy and Jack Klein, both of Fort Wayne, IN.  She is also survived by many close friends from all areas of her life. 

After a long and successful career, she retired from Trinity Health after working for over 15 years as a Project Manager.  Susie thoroughly enjoyed traveling, baking, scrapbooking and spending time with her nieces and nephews.  She loved working in her garden, playing cards and reading.  She cherished many lifelong friendships.  She was well loved and her joy for life will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, IN, where we will recite a rosary at 5 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 29, 2021 at Holy Family Catholic Church, with Rev. Glenn Kohrman officiating.  Interment will be at a later date.
