Steven Michael Hosang “Steve,” 48, of Edwardsburg, Michigan, entered into his eternal rest on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at his home in Edwardsburg, Michigan. Funeral services will be held on December 30, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Summit Church, 1700 West River Rd Niles, MI 49120, with Pastor Dan Miller officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 am until 10:45 am at the church prior to the service. A visitation will be held at Kaniewski Funeral Home, on December 29, 2025 from 4 pm to 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to New Carlisle Fire Department.

Steven “Steve” Hosang was born on January 10, 1977, in South Bend, IN, to Harry and Eileen Hosang. He was raised in New Carlisle alongside his sibling, Cheryl. Steve attended the New Prairie school district and graduated in 1995, alongside his best friends: Tony Barnhart, Bob Masters, and Ryan Stebasty. In high school, he worked at Watson’s collectibles alongside Bob and Tony. Steve also worked at the ethanol plant, National Standard, and Notre Dame Power Plant. For the last several years, Steve has been an employee of Siemens Energy and very successfully worked in power plant operations- first in northwest Ohio at the Oregon Clean Energy facility, and most recently as a Control Room Operator at St. Joseph Energy Center in New Carlisle, Indiana.

On April 12, 2003, Steve and Kelly were married at First Presbyterian Church in South Bend, IN. They had three kids: Leah (Benjamen) Miller in July of 2004, and two twin boys, Brandon and Tyler Hosang, in September of 2006.

Steve wore many hats throughout his life. Son, husband, father, friend, power engineer, volunteer firefighter, baseball coach, tennis coach, life coach, and so much more. He loved his family and poured endlessly into his kids. No matter what shift he worked, how much sleep he got, he showed up for matches and games no matter the occasion. He loved to ride dirt bikes with his sons and work on different trucks and projects with his boys. He enjoyed playing tennis, especially with his daughter. The occasional switch to playing pickleball, especially on cruise ships, brought him joy. He also never turned down a game of Euchre. Despite his friends starting their own families and one moving away, it was always important that he called them and stayed connected. Steve was the best dad ever, never failing to call or show up. Recently, Steve traveled the world on many cruise ships. His cruise buddies were either one of his kids, his wife, or just himself. These trips were special memories in recent years that are truly valued and will never be forgotten. It was incredibly special to have been loved by him.

Steve passed from this life into the presence of Christ on Wednesday, December 17, due to natural causes. He was preceded in death by his father, Harry, and his sister Cheryl. He is survived by his mother Eileen, beloved wife, Kelly, daughter Leah, and sons Brandon and Tyler. Steve leaves behind such a strong legacy of love, strength, community, and service that will impact generations to come. He is on the best cruise ship you could ever ask for. He will be deeply missed.
