Steven D. West

Steven D. West, 72, of South Bend, Indiana passed away at 5:16 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2025, in St. Joseph Medical Center.  Steven was born on December 1, 1952 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Al and Rita (Lewandowski) Wieners.  He retired from the Pasco County School System in Florida, where he was employed as a Math Teacher.  On October 18, 1993 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida he married Kathleen A. Davis, who survives.  Steven is also survived by two sons, Michael (Gleyce) Davis of Coconut Creek, Florida and David (Isabelle Queiroz) Davis of Boca Raton, Florida; three grandchildren, Mackenzie Davis, Miles Davis and Trent Davis; two sisters,  Debbie Taylor of Jamestown, Tennessee and Vicki (John) Scheffler of Jamestown, Tennessee; and two brothers, Davd (Debbie Jean) Wieners of Fulton, New York and Brian (Rhonda) Wieners of Berwick, Pennsylvania.  Steven was preceded in death by his parents, Al and Rita Wieners; and his son Christopher Davis.  A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2025, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, Indiana.  Military Services to follow.  A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home.  Steven was a 1976 graduate of the University of Notre Dame. He served in the United States Navy from 1981 to 1989.  Steven was a master carpenter and enjoyed building model ships. He loved Notre Dame Football. Memorial Contributions should be directed to the Indiana University South Bend Nursing Scholarship.
