Shirley A. Dudeck

Shirley A. Dudeck, 91, of South Bend, Indiana passed away on Monday, August 31, 2026 in Indianapolis, Indiana.  Shirley was born on March 9, 1935 in South Bend, Indiana to Vernon and Dorothy (Swick) Bice, and was a lifelong resident.  On December 13, 1953 in Mishawaka, Indiana she married Albert E. Dudeck, who preceded her in death on January 19, 2005.  She was also preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Carla Bice.  Shirley is survived by her daughter, Debbie (Dave) Reed of South Bend, Indiana; her son, Jerry (Linda) Dudeck of South Bend, Indiana; fourteen grandchildren, Neil Kelly, Chris (Katie) Kelly, John (Lauren) Dudeck, Nick (Lisa) Dudeck, Lisa Valdex, Holly (Jeff) Christian, Dennis Giles, Tony Valdex, Hannah Valdex, Allison Giles, Tyler Giles, Carter Christian, Grace Christian and Adalyn Giles; three great-grandchildren, Cosmo Kelly, Andrew Dudeck and Katelyn Dudeck  Funeral Services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2026 in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, Indiana.  Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.  Shirley was a former member of St. John the Baptist Church and a member of the Mother’s Support Group of South Bend.  She enjoyed playing cards and Bingo. She was a Glitter Bug, and enjoyed decorating cards and other items with glitter.  Shirley was very close with her sisters-in-law, Carla, Pat and Carol. She was very friendly. Shirley never knew a stranger.  Memorial Contributions should be directed to the Wounded Warrior Project.
