Sherry L. Day

Sherry L. Day, 74, of South Bend, passed away on Thursday February 13, 2025 at Memorial Hospital, South Bend surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on December 25, 1950, in South Bend, to the late John Oliver and Frances (Sexton) Day.   Sherry was also preceded in death by her sister, Kim Day Baron, her brother, Larry Day and her grandson, Rocky Ryans.  She is survived by her four sons; Dennis "Tate" (Deanna) Ryans, David "Bub" (Kathy) Ryans, both of South Bend, John Ryans of New Carlisle and Jay (Jessica) Ryans of South Bend, 10 grandchildren, Mason, Perry, Daulton, Gunnar, Braxton, Tatum, Dallas, Madison, Dayne and Ruby, three sisters, Cindy (Brian) Kmitta, Gale (Toby) Koons and Dixie Swigart, all of South Bend and by three brothers, Danny Day of Jacksonville, FL, Mike (Joan) Day of Arkansas and John (Shawn) Day of Mishawaka, IN.  

Sherry retired from Aramark in 2017 after 37 of service as a Plant Manager.  Her greatest accomplishment is her family.  Her greatest passion was watching her kids and grandkids sporting events.  She enjoyed spending time with family and going on yearly vacations to Ludington and Gatlinburg.  She also loved trips to the lake and antiquing and bargain shopping with her sisters.

A memorial visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday February 22, 2025 at the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend.  A memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home, with burial to conclude at Highland Cemetery, South Bend.  Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice in her name.   To send online condolences, please visit http://www.kaniewski.com.
