Sharon L. Moffitt

Sharon L. Moffitt, 83, of New Carlisle, Indiana passed away on Friday, July 16, 2021 in Memorial Hospital of South Bend. Sharon was born on April 25, 1938 in South Bend, Indiana to the late James and Dorothy (Crothers) Stringer. On April 26, 1958 she married Charles D. Moffitt who preceded her in death on July 18, 2011. Sharon was also predeceased in death by one daughter, Cassandra Smith on May 23, 2021. She is survived by one daughter, Melissa (Paul) Henderson of New Carlisle, Indiana, two sons, James (Susan) Moffitt of New Carlisle, Indiana, Christopher (Amy) Moffitt, of New Carlisle, Indiana, eleven grandchildren, Abby Moffitt, Joe Smith, William Moffitt, Dorothy Smith, Brittany Moffitt, Clayton Moffitt, Lexy Durbin, Maddie Durbin, Tyler Ryder, Jacob Smith, and Holly Henderson, ten great-grandchildren; Antony, Liam, Maya, Ava, Margaux, Charlotte, Brodie, Emmett, Loxley, and Silas.

Sharon was a 1956 graduate of New Carlisle High School. She was a member of the Delta Theta Tau Sorority, American Legion Auxiliary, New Carlisle, and the Community Church where she was an Elder and Deaconess. She enjoyed spending her winters in Florida. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family especially being a grandma.

Private family graveside services will be held in New Carlisle Cemetery, New Carlisle, Indiana. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
