Russell J. Leason

Russell J. Leason, 75, of New Carlisle, Indiana passed away on Thursday December 1, 2022. He was born on April 20, 1947 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Russell A. and Dorothy (Hall) Leason. Russell is survived by one daughter, Angela (David) Henry of North Liberty, Indiana, three sons, Chris Leason of LaPorte, Indiana, Timothy Leason of New Carlisle, Indiana, Peter (Tammie) Leason of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Susan Leason and Karen Jones.

Russell was an avid Disney lover. He took many trips to Disney World throughout his life. He volunteered at The Hesston’s Steam Museum as a conductor. He was passionate about anything to do with trains. He enjoyed racing go karts as a kid himself, he also carried on this activity with his sons as they got older.

A visitation for Russell will be held on Monday December 5, 2022 at the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 201 S. Filbert St., New Carlisle, IN from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm EST. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm EST. Burial will follow in New Carlisle Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made in Russell’s honor to Hesston’s Steam Museum, 1201 E. 1000 N., LaPorte, IN 46350.
