Roy Moore
January 25, 1932-March 1, 2026
Roy W. Moore, 94, passed peacefully, surrounded by family in Granger, IN, on March 1, 2026.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Emma Moore (nee Brost).
He is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Rita (Gondek) Moore, and their children: Stephen Moore, Barb (Dave) Peet, Susan (David) Moore-Riesbeck, and Alan Moore.
Roy was a proud and devoted grandfather to six: Rachel (Kyle) Hanson, Allison (Zac) Pendergrass, Matthew (Amelia) Riesbeck, Jessica (Andy) Peet, Christopher Riesbeck, and Jonathan (Mariah) Riesbeck. Affectionately known as “Poppie,” he will be deeply missed by his five great-grandchildren: Sam, Henry, Claire, Owen, and Lillian.
He is also lovingly remembered by special family members Cathy (Jim) Nelson, Danielle (Chris) Okon, Eric Nelson, and Joey Okon.
Roy was a quiet and steady presence whose greatest joy came from watching his family grow and succeed. He took pride in his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and followed their lives with quiet interest and encouragement. He shared a particularly close bond with his son Alan, who was also his best friend. Roy had a dry sense of humor that often caught people by surprise. In his later years, he enjoyed watching YouTube videos—never hesitating to offer his own critiques. He will be remembered for his gentle nature, his wit, and the quiet love he had for his family. Rest easy, Poppie.
