Robert (Bob) Lee Farley, 88, of South Bend, died at home on July 7, 2024. Born October 17, 1935, in Hammond, Indiana, he was the son of the late Clyde and Dorothy Arlene (Miller) Farley. He was preceded in death by brother Roger “Ricky” Gene Farley. Bob is survived by wife Carrol Jeanne (Snyder), his children Michael Lee Farley of Bremen; and Brenda Lee Farley and her life partner Bonnie Lynne Burson, both of Columbus, Ohio; sister Joan and brother-in-law Allen Olson of Albeuquerque, NM; stepson Brian Robert Cook and stepson-in-law Scott Christopher Shumaker, both of San Francisco, California; and stepdaughter Cindy Jeanne Novak and stepson-in-law Brad Anthony Novak, both of Geneva, Illinois. Bob had three step-grandchildren: Max A. Novak, Abby J. Novak, and Lily P. Novak, all of Chicago, Illinois.
Bob proudly served in the United States Marines on the USS Oriskany CVA-34.
He was an accomplished and award-winning health insurance agency owner in South Bend, where he excelled in providing exceptional customer service for 62 years. He was an avid motor vehicle enthusiast, and the proud owner of several Boss Hoss bikes and trikes, Sea Ray cabin cruisers and ski boats, classic cars, and snowmobiles.
Bob enjoyed spending time with his beloved wife Carrol at their homes in New Buffalo, MI, and Fort Myers Beach, FL, and traveling to numerous motorcycle rallies and other vacation spots around the world.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2024 in the South Bend funeral home, where a service will take place at 4:00 p.m.
