Robert "Bob" Romig

Robert E. Romig, 92, of New Carlisle, passed away on Friday, November 5, 2021 at Millers Merry Manor. Robert was born on May 5, 1929 in Fulton County, Indiana to the late Fred and Olive (Bryant) Romig. He attended Riley High School in South Bend, Indiana. After High School, Bob served his country from 1951 until 1953 in the United Sates Army. Bob married Paula (Bate) Romig on July 23, 1958. They lived many years in New Carlisle, Indiana while spending the winter months in Leesburg, Florida. Surviving Bob is his loving wife, Paula, two sons; John Romig and Roger Romig, two daughters; Lesa McDonald and Sue (David) Anastos, six grandchildren; Ryan (Andrea) Romig, Rachel (Mike) Mezzei, Ben and Tim McDonald, Dalton and Dakota Anastos, one great grandson, Brayden Mezzei. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister-in-law, Bill (Eva) Romig, sister and brother-in-law, Betty (Ted) Wunder, and one son in law, Mitch McDonald.

Bob enjoyed taking his family to Minnesota every year for two weeks for fishing. His favorite sport was basketball at the “Y”.

A Graveside Memorial will be held at New Carlisle Cemetery on May 5, 2022 at 4:30 pm EST. Following the graveside service a dinner will be held at the American Legion Post 297 in New Carlisle.
