Robert Greathouse

Robert “Bob” Greathouse, 71, of New Carlisle, Indiana passed away at 4:00 a.m. Monday, April 26, 2021, in StoryPoint Senior Living, Granger, Indiana.  Robert was born on June 11, 1949 in South Bend, Indiana to George and Irene (Pap) Greathouse. He retired from NIPSCO where he was employed as a Lineman.  He was a former Pastor at Olive Chapel Church in New Carlisle.  On August 31, 1968, in the Hudson Lake Mennonite Church, he married Carol S. Martz, who survives.  Robert is also survived by his daughter, Missy Greathouse of Hudson Lake, Indiana; three sons, Rob (Oksana) Greathouse of Lakeville, Indiana, Jim (Lisa) Greathouse of Mill Creek, Indiana and Andy (Ashley) Greathouse of Roswell, Georgia; fourteen grandchildren, Lily, Maddie, Silas, Olia, Stella, Masha, Jimmy, David, Isaac, Beau, Elijah, Hudson, Julia and Emmett; one great-grandson, Jeremiah; and his sister, Linda Greathouse of New Carlisle, Indiana.  Robert was preceded in death by his sister, Carol Damron.  Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. E.S.T. Sunday, May 2, 2021 in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, Indiana.  Burial will follow in Olive Chapel Cemetery.  A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. E.S.T. Saturday, May 1, 2021 in the funeral home.  Robert  served in the United States Navy. He was a member and Chaplain for the American Legion Post #297.  He enjoyed  gardening, especially growing tomatoes and melons.  He always enjoyed going to breakfast at The Diner.  To send online condolences, please visit kaniewski.com
