Ricky Dale Creswell,63, of South Bend, passed away on Saturday, July 3 at Memorial Hospital in Hospice care. He was born on December 19, 1957 in Jonesboro, Ark, to the late Alfred and Bonnie (Easley) Creswell. Shortly after being born he moved to South Bend, IN, later to Niles, MI, and finally moved back to South Bend after his marriage.

In 1985 he met his future wife Christine A. Widup at a Chicago Bears Superbowl party. On January 30, 1987 they married, in South Bend, IN at the Saint Joseph County Courthouse. Ricky is survived by his wife Christine A. Creswell; daughter Tori L. Creswell of South Bend; son Justin T Creswell of South Bend; grandson Robert A. Creswell of South Bend. He is also survived by his sister Hope (Duane) Faller of Higden,Arkansas; niece Renee Lane of Warrensburg,Missouri; nephew Duane (Savannah) Faller of Windsor, Missouri; two great nieces Evelynne R. Lane and Alayna M. Faller; two great nephews John E. Lane and Waylon R. Faller.

Mr. Creswell was a graduate of Brandywine class of 1977. During his high school career he wrestled at 91lbs. and made it to state in his senior year. He also loved to play football and was a defensive end tackle for the bobcats. He continued his love for football after high school as an avide Notre Dame and Chicago Bears fan.  He retired from National Standard in 1988 where he worked for 11 years. He also worked at Lozier West End Body Shop. He then joined the Sheet Metal Workers as a journeyman, where he worked for 12 years. While working as a sheet metal worker Rick had the privilege to work on buildings such as the Golden Dome at Notre Dame, multiple nuclear plants in the United States, as well as many other buildings. Rick often traveled out of state for work as a sheet metal worker.

He always brought laughter and fun to a gathering. He had a great sense of humor and could make anyone laugh. He had a great love for all music but he especially enjoyed listening to country music. He loved to dance and continued to do so in his chair when he couldn’t stand anymore. He enjoyed playing darts and was in a league with his son. Rick was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. During the summers Rick could be found on the baseball fields coaching his sons little league team or at the Saint Joseph fair grounds where he was a rabbit and poultry leader for Navarre. He was also an avid spectator at all sporting events that both of his children participated in. He enjoyed spending time with his grandson and loved spending time with him especially on their family vacations.
