Richard L. Kelley

Richard “Dick” L. Kelley, 88, of New Carlisle, IN passed away at 4:04am Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at Memorial Hospital surrounded by family.

Dick was born July 28, 1937 in LaPorte, IN to Roland and Margaret Kelley.  He was a life long resident of New Carlisle, IN.

Dick was employed by Ackerman Enterprises for 15 years and Woodruff and Sons, Inc. for 31 years.  He was also a lifetime farmer, which he really enjoyed.

On April 11, 1959 in New Carlisle, IN he married Evelyn, which Evelyn proceeded him in death.

Dick is survived by his daughter, Lori (John) Mrozinski of New Carlisle, IN; her son, Micheal (C.J.) Kelley of New Carlisle, IN; four grandchildren, Rachel Casto, Tyler (Renee) Kelley, Bruce VanWanzeele and Cody Kelley; and four great grandchildren, Natalie, Sarah, Maggie and Emmett; his sister Mary (Ian) MacGillivray and brother James Kelley.

Dick was proceeded in death by his wife Evelyn, daughter, Debbie, who died at age 4; his parents and brother, Robert Kelley.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 12pm to 3pm CST Saturday, March 14, 2026 at K-FEX, 5885 N 800 E, New Carlisle, IN. 

Dick was a proud farmer, loyal employee, wonderful husband, dad and grandpa.  He thoroughly enjoyed farming and was at the farm every day.  His loved his family and friends, but the grandkids and great grandkids took center stage.
