Richard D. Bunton

Richard D. Bunton, 97, of New Carlisle, IN, passed away on Sunday May 18, 2025 at Memorial Hospital, South Bend.  He was born on July 7, 1927, in LaPorte, IN, to the late, Clossie E. and Helen Elizabeth (McQuisten) Bunton.  On June 28, 1952, he married Mary J. Brummitt, who preceded him in death on September 26, 2018.  He was also preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.  Richard is survived by his children, Susan (David) Connan of Richmond, TX, James (Tracie) Bunton of Valparaiso, IN, Janice (Mark) Lachmund of New Carlisle and Patricia (Robert) Parks of LaPorte, many beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren and by a sister, Phyllis (Steve) Hyer of New Carlisle.  Mr. Bunton worked for the South Shore Railroad for 42 years, before retiring on August 1, 1987.  Private family services will take place.  Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Children's Hospital or the Wounded Warrior Project.  To send online condolences, please visit http://www.kaniewski.com.
