Rebecca Lynn Turner "Becka" was born on May 27, 1987, in Arcadia, FL, the beloved daughter of James F. Turner, who preceded her in death on February 13, 2008. She joined her father, whom she adored, into eternal life on July 25, 2018.
Becka is survived by her two loving children, Alexander Weaver and Olivia Weaver, and her stepdaughter, Ashlynn Weaver. She is also survived by her brother, Jay F. Turner, with whom she had an extraordinary bond, and her great aunt, Sharon L. Turner, who was her "substitute mother."
Becka was an extremely intelligent, talented, and giving person, who was beautiful of the heart and physically. In order to pursue her degree on line in applied psychology at Florida Tech, Becka worked in the food industry for nearly two years at Bob Evans Restaurant as a hostess, server, catering specialist, and grill cook. Most recently she was employed at Logan's Roadhouse as a grill cook and at Polito's Italian Restaurant as a server. Academically, Becka was maintaining a grade average in the mid-nineties.
In her short life, Becka, was faced with many unfortunate circumstances, not the least of which was suffering since childhood with a seizure disorder and domestic violence. Being blessed with wisdom, tenacity, and faith in God she was on the path to confront the issues and achieve the goals she set out for herself and her children.
In her youth, as a member of Saint Patrick' s Church in South Bend, she, with her brother Jay, acted as an altar server and on several occasions acted as such for the then Bishop of the diocese. She was also a working participant along with her aunt and brother in many of the fund raising projects of the parish. She was artistic and loved painting the faces of children at Saint Patrick's Church and for functions at Saint Mary's School in Niles where her children attend.
A viewing for Becka will be on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 North Bendix Drive, in South Bend from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., with a rosary being prayed at 5:00 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at St. Patrick's Church at 10:00 A.M. Friends may visit at the church one hour prior to the mass.
Words are inadequate to express the love her children, brother and aunt had for Becka and her memory will be cherished forever.
