Raymond E. Snyder Obituary

Raymond E. Snyder, 89, of South Bend, IN, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2024 in his home, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on December 7, 1934 to the late Raymond M. and Rosina (Roessler) Snyder in South Bend, IN, and was a lifelong area resident.  Along with his parents; he was preceded in death by his wife, Marsha Snyder; and his brother, Larry Snyder.
On May 27, 1960, he married Marsha L. Smith in South Bend, IN.  She died on February 28, 2007.  Ray is survived by a daughter, Cindy (Keith) Mrozinski of South Bend, IN; three sons, James Snyder of South Bend, IN; Dan Snyder of South Bend, IN; Russ (Wendy) Snyder of South Bend, IN; one sister Ann (Bob) Bargerhuff of Indianapolis, IN; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
Ray graduated from Central High School in South Bend.  He was a United States Army Veteran.  Ray worked the night shift at Bendix until he opened his auto service station, Portage Sunoco.  He was a genuinely honest and trusted member of his community.
Of course, his main passion was Chet Waggoner Little League.  Besides his family, CWLL was his pride and joy.  Ray dedicated 50 years to the development and success of Chet Waggoner, where he tried to provide a 'field of dreams' for families to enjoy.
Cremation has taken place.  Visitation will be from 12 p.m. - 4 p.m. Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, IN, followed by a concluding prayer and military honors.  Burial will take place at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to Chet Waggoner Little League or the Center for Hospice Care cfhcare.org
