Radene A. Tidey

Radene A. Tidey, 72, of South Bend, Indiana passed away at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, September 13, 2023, in her home surrounded by her family.  Radene was born on August 25, 1951 in South Bend to Raymond S. Taberski, Sr. and Eloise M. (Erhardt) Taberski and was a lifelong resident.  She retired in 2013 from the South Bend Community School Corporation, where she was employed as a School Bus Drive for 22 years.  On October 3, 1969 she married Kenneth G. Tidey, Sr. who preceded her in death on September 28, 2017.  She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Diane Taberski, Alice Taberski and Radell Zawistowski.  Radene is survived by her daughter, Rachel Zawistowski of South Bend, Indiana; two sons, Kenneth (Nicole Griffith) Tidey, Jr.  and Keith (Dawn Singleton) Tidey both of South Bend, Indiana; four granddaughters, Kaitlyn, Alexis, Alyssa and Mackenzie Tidey; one grandson, Ryan Griffith; one great-grandson, Beckham; two brothers Raymond (Stacie) Taberski and Raynard Taberski both of South Bend, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday September 19, 2023 in St. Matthew Cathedral.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, Indiana. Visitation will also take place from 9:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. Tuesday in St. Matthew Cathedral.  Radene enjoyed baking, crocheting and spending time with her family. Radene wanted the thank Kaniewski Funeral Home for serving her family through the years.  Radene’s family also would like to thank Caring Cove Hospice for the loving care.  Memorial Contributions should be directed to St. Matthew Cathedral or St. Josephy County Humane Society.
