Philip R. Shea, Jr.

Philip R. Shea, Jr., 82, of New Carlisle, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2020. He was born on October 21, 1938 in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Philip, Sr. and Margaret (Knight) Shea. On October 19, 1963, he married Noreen C. Matthews, who preceded him in death on December 19, 2013. Philip is survived by one daughter, Gloria Stambaugh of New Carlisle, Indiana; one son, Patrick Shea of New Carlisle, Indiana; one granddaughter, Margaret Stambaugh of LaPorte, Indiana; one great-grandson, Troy Shidler of LaPorte, Indiana; and one brother, George Shea of Jacksonville, Florida. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Shea. Philip was a veteran of the United States Army. Philip worked for many years as a custodian at the University of Notre Dame. He was a huge Notre Dame fan. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and Indy Car Racing.  A visitation will be held on Friday, November 20, 2020 in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 201 S. Filbert St., New Carlisle, IN from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. EST. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in New Carlisle Cemetery.
