Patricia M. Birky

Patricia M. Birky, 86, of South Bend passed away on Tuesday May 25, 2021 at Trail Point Village, South Bend.  She was born on March 1, 1935, to the late Joseph and Lottie (Walkowski) Zakrzewski and was a life long area resident.  She is survived by her daughter, Diane Amm of Mishawaka, a granddaughter, Dr. Hope Amm (Adam Steg) of Birmingham, AL; and two great-grandchildren, Eric and Emma Steg.  She was preceded in death by two sisters; Clara Nowak and Evelyn Marlin; by two brothers; Chester and Joseph Zakrzewski and a son-in-law, David Amm.  She graduated from Central High School in 1952.  She worked at the following places:  South Bend Lathe for several years, Studebaker for 13 years, A.M. General for 29 years, where she was the Benefits Administrator.  She loved reading, decorating her home for the seasons, working outside and tending to her flowers, and she loved watching movies and especially loved animals.  Per her wishes, there will be no services, cremation will take place.  To send online condolences, please visit www.kaniewski.com.
