Patricia Stachowiak

Patricia Stachowiak, 87, of South Bend, Indiana passed away on Monday, September 1, 2025 after a brief stay at Wellbrooke of South Bend. She was born on April 1, 1938 in Poquoson, Virginia to the late Eddie and Jennie (Bradshaw) Smith. On September 7, 1957 she married Leonard Stachowiak who preceded her in death on September 14, 1986. Patricia was also preceded in death by one son, Robert Stachowiak, one sister, Carrie and two brothers, Edward and Jack. She is survived by one daughter, Trina (Tom) Schultheis of Mishawaka, Indiana, two sons, Doug (Amalia) Stachowiak of Santa Barbara, California, Chuck (Becky) Stachowiak of Hot Springs, Arkansas, one daughter-in-law, Dawn Stachowiak of Jacksonville, Florida, six grandchildren, Zach Schultheis, Tagin Schultheis, Nicholas Stachowiak, Cameron Schultheis, Trevor Stachowiak and Mandy Stachowiak.

Patricia enjoyed cooking, crafts (arranging flowers, making wreathes, needlepoint, knitting and making blankets). She also enjoyed playing cards with her friends and attending all her grandkids sporting events.

Private family services are being held. Patricia will be buried next to her husband Leonard in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to The Hospice Foundation in Patricia’s honor.
