Megan Mary “Megie” Remmo-Eggers, 58, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2025.
Born on July 19, 1967, Megie was the beloved daughter of Susan Remmo and the late Clyde Remmo. She was preceded in death by her father, Clyde Remmo, her paternal grandparents, her maternal grandparents, her sisters, Jennifer Remmo and Amy Benjamin, and her niece, Amelia Laureys.
Megie was a proud graduate of St. Joseph’s High School (Class of 1985). She attended Albion College and graduated from the Kendall School of Art in 1989, where she was a devoted member of Alpha Xi Delta sorority. Her creativity and artistic spirit shone throughout her life—in her photography, poetry, jewelry-making, and original artwork.
For 29 years, Megie worked with dedication and heart at her family’s business, City Wide Liquor. Her warmth and humor touched countless coworkers and customers alike.
On October 8, 1994, Megie married the love of her life, Lawrence Andrew “Andy” Eggers, at Izaak Walton. Together they shared 31 beautiful years of marriage filled with laughter, adventure, and love. Megie was a devoted mother to their daughter, Madelyn Eggers, and also lovingly helped raise her sister’s children—Zoe (Jake) Stone, Xavier Remmo, and Joel (Storm) Remmo—after her sister’s passing.
She is also survived by her mother, Susan Remmo; sisters Julie Walker and Heidi (Eric) Baker of South Bend; brothers Andrew (Dionne) Remmo of Loveland, CO, Matthew (Karrie) Remmo of Buchanan, MI, and CJ (Rebecca) Remmo of Portland, OR; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins, aunts and uncles, who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
Megie’s love of nature was unmatched. She found joy in Lake Michigan’s waves, collecting stones from the beach, and transforming them into art. She was an avid gardener who knew the name of every flower and was a dedicated volunteer with the HASA program at Holy Cross School. Art, music, and the outdoors filled her life with beauty and meaning.
A celebration of Megie’s life will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Izaak Walton League, located at 20400 Darden Rd., South Bend, IN 46637.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to be made in her honor to a local art or nature organization of your choice—a reflection of Megie’s lifelong love of creativity and the outdoors.
Megie will be remembered for her creativity, kindness, and deep love for her family and community. Her light will continue to shine in every flower she planted, every “love” rock she created, and every heart she touched with her infectious laugh.
