Maxine V. Stachowiak

Maxine V. Stachowiak, 83, of Mishawaka, Indiana passed away at 1:09 p.m. Monday, June 4, 2018 in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. Maxine was born on July 18, 1934 in South Bend, Indiana to Anthony J. and Valeria (Wroblewski) Stachowiak.  Her mother died the day she was born. Maxine was raised by her father, who never remarried, and her aunt Lottie and John Wroblewski, whom she adored.  She was a graduate of St. Joseph Academy and The College of Commerce. Maxine is survived by her cousins and Godchildren.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 11, 2018 in Holy Family Church.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.  A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Monday in the church.  Maxine was a member of Holy Family Parish and the Daughters of Isabella.  She enjoyed cooking, gardening and traveling.  She took gourmet cooking classes and enjoyed cooking and hosting parties for her friends.  Memorial Contributions may be directed to St. Jude’s Hospital in Tennessee, Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis,  the Ronald McDonald House in South Bend, or Holy Family Church.  Kaniewski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
