Mary Lou Gordon, 99, of Notre Dame, Indiana passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2025, in Dujarie House at Holy Cross Village.
Mary Lou was born on June 17, 1926 in Terre Haute, Indiana to Edward and Ruby (Robison) Trezise. She was a 1944 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School.
On September 8, 1948 in South Bend, Indiana she married Carl F. Gordon, who preceded her in death on September 5, 2000. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Tom and Russell Gordon; two sisters, Norma Jean Dale and Ruby Mae Stoynof; and her brother, Ted Trezise. Also preceding her in death was her longtime companion, Kurt Simon.
Mary Lou is survived by her son, Jeffrey Gordon of South Bend, Indiana; five grandchildren, Ryan (Vanessa) Gordon, David Gordon, Edward (Barbara) Gordon, Dr. Grant (Danielle) Gordon and Christine (Jeremy) McDonald; nine great-grandchildren; seven great great-grandchildren; her sister, Carol Swetish of South Bend, Indiana; two daughters-in-law, Sherrie (Russell) Gordon and Linda (Tom) Thorpe-Gordon; and several nieces and nephews.
Mary Lou had been employed for over 30 years with the A.B. Dick Company. She enjoyed many hobbies including sewing, gardening, and dancing. Mary Lou was a hard working farm wife. She was a faithful member of Ardmore Brethren Church.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2025 in Ardmore Brethren Church. Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, Indiana.
