Mary Jo Krisor

Mary Jo Krisor, 82, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2025, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 30, 1943, in South Bend, Indiana, to the late Joseph and Lucille (Was) Wegner. On November 27, 1987, she married John “Jack” D. Krisor, Jr. who survives. She is also survived by one daughter Joy (Daniel) Cornelius of South Bend, Indiana; five grandchildren, John “Jack,” Joseph, Matthew, Lauren and James; four sisters, Clarice (Walter) Cabral of Colorado, Terri (Robert) Halgren of Colorado, Geraldine (Jon) Oppenheim of South Bend, Indiana, and Gretchen (John) Mehall of South Bend, Indiana, and one brother, Father Eugene Wegner, O.F.M. of Burlington, Wisconsin. Mary Jo was also preceded in death by two sisters, Rita (Martin) Kenehan and Jeanette (Robert) Grohowski.

Mary Jo was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and grandmother, and a woman of deep Catholic faith instilled by her parents. She was married to the love of her life Jack, and their “endless celebration” started over 37 years ago. They were inseparable, working together every day at their law firm and traveling the world to spoil their grandchildren and on countless adventures. Mary Jo had an enormous heart and loved deeply. She was known for her profound faith, boundless devotion to her family, incredible warmth and thoughtfulness, infectious smile and joy, great sense of humor, and amazing hugs. Mary Jo impacted all she met, and to have known her was to love her. She is missed dearly by her family and friends.

A visitation for Mary Jo will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Dr., South Bend, Indiana, from 2:00 pm until 6:30 pm. The Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 pm with a Remembrance Celebration to follow at 7:00 pm in the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, November 7, 2025, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 2822 Corpus Christi Dr., South Bend, Indiana.
