Mary Delahanty Petrasovits

Mary Delahanty Petrasovits, 77, of Mishawaka, IN, passed away at 7:27 a.m. Monday, July 21, 2025 in her home, surrounded by her loving family and friends.

Mary was born on August 19, 1947 to the late Edward Lawrence and Rosemary Margaret (DeVreese) Delahanty in South Bend, IN, and was a lifelong area resident.  Along with her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Stephen Petrasovits; and a sister-in-law, Rebecca Delahanty.

She graduated in 1965 from St. Joseph High School in South Bend.

Mary was retired from St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, where she worked as a Healthcare Manager for 35 years.

On October 9, 1976, as Mary Carol Delahanty, she married Lewis Stephen Petrasovits at St. Joseph Catholic Church in South Bend.  Lewis passed away on April 13, 2015.

Mary is survived by her sister, Maureen “Neen” (Bill Chelminiak) Delahanty of Mishawaka, IN; three brothers, Edward Delahanty of Naples, FL and Mishawaka, IN; Michael (Susan) Delahanty of Pittsburgh, PA; Patrick (Lynette) Delahanty of Union, MI and Mishawaka, IN; many special nieces & nephews; and many great nieces and great nephews.

She was a member of St. Monica Parish in Mishawaka, IN; a member of the GOA Club; and a former trustee and life member of South Bend Elks Lodge #235.  Mary was a hostess to many patio parties in her Stonebridge Community, where she spent many hours enjoying friends and family.  She had the unique ability to form community wherever she was involved whether it be personal or professional relationships. Mary was a wonderful person who dearly loved her family and friends.  She had a quick wit, sharp mind, and did things exactly as she pleased.  Though she has left this world, she will always be in our hearts.  Cheers Gag and Lew....Stingers and Jack all around!

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 1, 2025 at St. Monica Catholic Church, Mishawaka, IN.  Private interment will take place in Highland Cemetery at a later date.
