Mary Ann (Coleman) Pfefferkorn

Mary Ann Pfefferkorn, 73, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 10:24 a.m. Monday, September 28, 2026 at Cardinal Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in South Bend, IN.

Mary Ann was born on June 25, 1953 to the late Robert and Katherine (Broughton) Coleman in Fort Wayne, IN, and has lived most of her life in South Bend. 

She graduated in 1971 from Penn High School in Mishawaka, IN.

Mary Ann retired in 2005 from Saint Mary’s College, where she worked as a Care Partner at Saint Mary’s Convent, for the Sisters of Holy Cross for 10 years.

In 1972, as Mary Ann Coleman, she married Frank Nagy at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, Notre Dame, IN.  Frank passed away on January 23, 2000.

Mary Ann is survived by her only daughter, Jamie (husband Jeff) Clifton of South Bend, IN; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and two brothers, Terry (Mary) Coleman of Jackson Center, OH and Jim (Ellen) Coleman of South Bend, IN.

Mary Ann enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and will be deeply missed by her loved ones.

Per Mary Ann’s request, no visitation or services will take place.
