June 16, 1934 ~ January 27, 2024 (age 89) 89 Years Old
Mary J. Robb, 89, of South Bend, Indiana passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024. She was born on June 16, 1934 in South Bend, Indiana to the late John and Louise (Soblewski) Guzowski. On September 16, 1950 she married Richard L. Robb who preceded her in death on December 23, 2005. Mary was also preceded in death by four sisters, Henrietta Zakrowski, Kathryn Reitz, Joan Marshall and Carol Siderits. She is survived by one daughter, Sue (Matthew) Buczolich of South Bend, Indiana, one son, Robin (Kathy) Robb of Granger, Indiana, five grandchildren, Brittany (Gordon) Weiler, Broc (Misty) Buczolich, Ashlan (Adam) Smith, Rachel (Matthew) Holcomb and Dylan (Erin) Robb, six great grandchildren, Zachary Lannoo, Brody Buczolich, Jackson Smith, Dalton Smith, Della Holcomb and Heidi Holcomb.
There were many many years of hosting Christmas Eve’s at Mary and Richard’s home with many family and friends there. She enjoyed walking her daughter’s dogs on the property out back, wearing her carpenter’s apron with treats in the pocket to the lure the dogs back if they wandered off. She always had her walking stick with her and maybe a cigarette or two along the way. She was available to listen and give advice to anyone who might want it along the way. Mary always welcomed her son and daughter’s friends as they were growing up and always asked about them often. When the weather was nice, she would sit on her front porch and lots of people that would pass by would honk and wave at her. Her generosity was overwhelming. For many years she had lot of beautiful flowers in her yard until she could no longer care for them. She had a great sense of humor and we laughed a lot. Most of all was her love for her beloved family. They always meant the world to her until the end. We have been blessed to have such a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and a friend in our lives. She will be missed by many. But so many wonderful memories will always be with us. May you rest in peace, you beautiful, beautiful woman. We love you so much.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Catherine and Victoria from the Center for Hospice and all of the great staff at the Dujarie House.
