Lyndell P. Bollhorst

Lyndell P. Bollhorst, 93, of New Carlisle, IN, was called to the Our Heavenly Father on Saturday, February 8, 2025.  Lyndell was the second child of Morse and Edna (Wertz) Bollhorst born in Fosterburg, IL in 1931.  Raised in The Water Gardens of Whiting, IN, Lyn graduated from George Rogers Clark High School and married his sweetheart from High School, Catherine Thomas from Bishop Noll. Together they had three boys, George (Doris), Dennis (Michelle) and Russell (Sherry) Bollhorst.  In addition, the family grew to include seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.  Lyndell spent 72 years dedicated to his wife, Catherine and family. He spent 25 years at Youngstown Sheet and Tube, then 10 years with the Hammond School System. Lyndell lived in the region his entire 93 years, 87 years in Hammond.  He was called by many names in his life, Baldy, Mr. B, the Candy Man, Coach, but no matter what you called him, he always had a smile and made the other person feel better for having talked to him.  A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at a later date.  To send online condolences, please visit http://www.kaniewski.com
