Loretta Dorothy Dolan

Loretta Dorothy Dolan, 88, of Niles, MI, passed away on Tuesday October 29, 2024 at Hanson Hospice Center, Stevensville, MI.  She was born on December 17, 1935 in White Pigeon, MI, to the late Kostanty and Marianna (Narkowicz) Wozniel.  She was a teacher in a one room school before she met Albert Dolan.  It was there that her love of children and education was formed. In 1960 they married and he preceded her in death on April 1, 2019.  Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, David and Daniel Dolan, her special nephew, Michael Wozniel and by many siblings.  Loretta is survived by her son, Don (Jeanette) Dolan of Berrien Springs, MI, five grandchildren, Destyni (Spencer) Carbon of Spring Lake, MI, Cory Dolan of South Bend, Nicholas (Haylie) Dolan of Edwardsburg, MI, Aleczandra (Michael) Smith of Plymouth, IN and Thomas Dolan of Bremen, IN, three step grandchildren, Lukas (Maddie Gelesko) Visin, Caleb and Andrew Conklin, 1 great-grandson, Asher Carbon and by her special nephew, Donald Carr of Mottville, MI.  Mrs. Dolan worked as a School Aid at Clay High School, South Bend.  It was there that she cared for special needs children with physical disabilities, much like her son, David.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday November 1, 2024 at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church, Berrien Springs, MI.  Private burial will take place later in day at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend.  Memorial contributions may be made to Riley's Children's Hospital.
