Lois (Nelson) Armstrong

Lois J. Armstrong, 75, of South Bend, Indiana passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2026 at Hamilton Communities in New Carlisle, Indiana. She was born on December 25, 1950 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Albin and Margaret (Grober) Nelson. On August 14, 1971 she married Timothy A. Armstrong who survives. Lois is also survived by three sons, Matthew S. (Shannon) Armstrong of Franklin, Indiana, Todd M. (Kristina) Armstrong of South Bend, Indiana and Jeffrey D. (Dominique) Armstrong of South Bend, Indiana, eight grandchildren; Dru (Kyrie), Dominic, Kylie, Donovan, Karma, Kaiden, Paityn and Emma, one sister, Karen (Bill) Curry of Hilltown, Pennsylvania and one sister-in-law, June Nelson of Hatboro, PA. Lois was also preceded in death by one brother, Stan Nelson.

Her greatest love was her husband, with whom she shared a life filled with devotion, partnership, and countless treasured moments. She devoted her life to her family, who were the center of her world. She was a loving mother and a proud grandmother who cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren. Her greatest joy came from sharing laughter, stories, and creating precious memories with those she loved most.

Lois found beauty in the simple gifts of life. She had a special love for birds, finding peace in their songs and joy in watching them visit her home. Her gardens and flowers reflected her gentle spirit—bringing color, care, and beauty wherever she went. She also had an adventurous spirit and a love for travel, embracing new places, new experiences, and the memories made along the way.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, June 27th at the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Dr. South Bend, IN. Visitation will take place from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association in Lois’s honor.
