Laura Jean Raab

Laura J. Rabb, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away January 28, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and compassion. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Laura was known for her warm heart and caring nature. She had a gift for making people feel cared for, and her compassion touched the lives of many, both personally and professionally. 

She cherished her family and the close relationships that meant the most to her. Laura found joy in sharing her life generously with others and creating memories that will be treasured forever. Her love of the Chicago Bears, passed down to her son, was unsurpassed by most. 

Laura is survived by her mother, Noreen Peterson; her sister, Debra Sopko; her beloved nieces and nephew; and many loving friends, especially Karen Davis.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Lynn; her son, Bret Shepard; and her father, Richard.

Though she is no longer with us, Laura’s spirit will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

Visitation will be held at Kaniewski Funeral Home in New Carlisle, IN on Saturday, February 7 from 2-4PM.
