Kyle Patrick Shumate

Kyle Patrick Shumate, 32, of New Carlisle, Indiana passed away on Monday, May 1, 2023. He was born on June 18, 1990 in South Bend, Indiana to Steven W. and Laura A. (McGonigal) Shumate. Both of his parents survive. Kyle is also survived by one brother, Cristopher W. Shumate of Kenmore, Washington, his loving aunts and uncles, Roni Hobkirk, Shelly Peffley, Carmella (Rick) Paver, Pat McGonigal and Sean (Jane) McGonigal as well as many cousins, extended family and friends he held dear. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Vaughn and Joyce Kline, Patrick and Emma McGonigal and Lester Pease and by his two aunts, Cathy Shumate and Susan McGonigal, and one uncle, Skip Peffley.

Kyle was one of the most kind-hearted souls you could ever meet.  He had a love of family and friend get togethers, video games and movies, old and new, and could be very philosophical at times.  He had a great sense of humor, we never knew where we would find “Kyle was here” written somewhere throughout the house.

A visitation for Kyle will be held on Friday May 5, 2023 at the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 201 S. Filbert St., New Carlisle, IN from 3:00 pm EST until 7:00 pm EST.
