Kenneth Carl Luhrsen

Kenneth Carl Luhrsen, 83, of Mishawaka, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. He was born on December 13,1942 in Buchanan, Michigan to the late Alfred Henry and Leola Marie (Weisenbarn) Luhrsen. Kenneth is survived by one daughter, Dawn Powers of New Carlisle, Indiana, one son, Kevin (Cherie) Luhrsen of South Bend, Indiana, three grandchildren, Kari O’Donnell, Carlie Hurley and Haley Garing, six great grandchildren, Payson, Elliot, Emerson, Carson, Hayden and Mia, and one brother Norman (Linda) Luhrsen. Kenneth was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister, two son-in-law’s, Karl Conjalka and James Powers and his former wife, Rhonda Touhey.

Ken learned to play piano and organ at a very young age. He enjoyed entertaining as he grew up. It became an important part of his career as the years passed. He also loved his family and enjoyed spending weekends working in the garden and yard. He worked as a maintenance person on the Indiana toll road for many years and after he moved to Oregon, he was a security guard.

A Celebration of Kenneth’s Life will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2026 at 2:00 pm at the Vannon Living Center located at 500 Lincolnway East, Mishawaka, Indiana. Please use the rear ground level entrance. Private family burial will take place at New Carlisle Cemetery on September 22, 2026 at 5:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to The American Heart Association.
