Kathleen G. (Erick) Schrader

Kathleen G. Schrader, 74, of South Bend, IN passed away at 12:02 a.m. Saturday, August 30, 2025 at the Group Home by the Dome in South Bend, IN. 

She was born on January 9, 1951 to the late Robert L. and Mary (Hadary) Erick in South Bend, IN, and was a lifelong area resident. 

Kathleen worked as a Human Resources Manager for E.T.I. Inc. in South Bend, IN for 37 years, before retiring in 2019. 

On May 10, 1975, as Kathleen G. Erick, she married Edward R. Schrader in South Bend, IN.  Edward preceded her in death on October 30, 2023.  She was also preceded in death by her step sons, Kevin Edward and Richard A. Schrader, a sister, Jennifer Rankin and a brother, Larry Erick.

Kathleen is survived by her son, Jason Scott Schrader of Crown Point, IN, her three step-children, Lori (Lee) Hagedorn and Jamie (Prabhat) Kharga, both of North Liberty, IN; Jeff (Jennifer) Schrader of South Bend, IN; six grandchildren, Kristy (Jay) Brennan, Eric Bueno, Maya Kharga, and Elizabeth, Joseph and Zach Schrader; three great-grandchildren, Mari, Matthew and Mason Brennan; a sister, Patricia (Louis Pola) Erick of Mishawaka, IN; a sister-in-law, Janet Rakowski of Niles, MI; and by two brothers-in-law, Jeff Rankin of Osceola, IN; and Don Schrader of Wyoming, MI. 

Kathleen loved the Beatles, shopping with her “Moochalotta’s,” and most of all her family.  She enjoyed the hobby of genealogy and collecting lighthouses, and was generous with her time to help.  Most of all, she very much missed her beloved husband Edward of nearly 50 years!     

Per her wishes, there will be no services, cremation will take place.
