Karla Ann (Vicsik) Lesniewicz

Karla Ann Lesniewicz, 64, of Granger, IN passed away at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, May 18, 2025 at home, peacefully in her husband’s arms.

She was born on December 21, 1960 to Theodore M. and Caryll J. (Schoening) Vicsik in South Bend, IN, and was a lifelong area resident, living in Granger, IN for the past 30 years.

Karla graduated in 1979 from Clay High School in South Bend, IN.  She had worked as a receptionist for many years at Teachers Credit Union; Bayer Corporation/Heraeus Kulzer; and Skinetta Pac Systems.

On September 26, 1987, as Karla Ann Vicsik, she married Kerry F. Lesniewicz at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart on the campus of the University of Notre Dame.

Karla is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Kerry F. Lesniewicz of Granger, IN; three daughters, Kailey Lesniewicz of South Bend, IN; Ashley (Caprice Peoples) Lesniewicz of South Bend, IN; Nicole (Joshua) Krempp of Jasper, IN; one son, Carter Lesniewicz of Granger, IN; four grandchildren, Liam O’Connell; and Leilani, Bryson, and Ellie Peoples; her mother, Caryll Vicsik of South Bend, IN; one sister, Karrie (Robert) Worrell of Granger, IN; and two brothers, Todd (Kristan) Vicsik of Lisle, IL; and Major Darrin Vicsik of Raleigh, NC.  Karla was preceded in death by her father, Theodore M. Vicsik.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Friday, May 30, 2025 at Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, IN, followed by Words of Remembrance from her family at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home.  A luncheon will then take place at The Blue Heron at Blackthorn from 1:30 - 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
