Julie Alice Mrozek, 83, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 12:20 a.m. Friday, January 31, 2025 at West Bend Nursing and Rehabilitation in South Bend, IN.

Julie was born on December 1, 1941 to the late Alfred J. and Alice (Winship) Timler in Milwaukee, WI, and has lived in South Bend, IN since 2002, coming from Michigan. 

Julie is survived by her beloved daughter, Andrea, her brother, Mark (Virginia) as well as several nephews and a niece; many great-nephews and great-nieces; and multiple cousins. 

Julie was college educated as a teacher and taught English, Social Studies, and History to middle school and high school students in both Wisconsin and Michigan. She later worked for the Federal Government in Michigan, finishing out her career as a Contract Specialist. 

Julie enjoyed reading, listening to music, and following the Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers. Julie wrote poetry on occasion. She liked cats and had several as pets at various times during her life. Julie's faith was meaningful to her, and she spent time in prayer regularly. She cherished her family and friends and blessed them with her warmth and encouragement.  

A memorial service will be held at The Cathedral of St. James Episcopal Church, 117 N. Lafayette Blvd., South Bend, IN on Friday, May 30, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. where friends and family may visit one hour prior to the service.  Inurnment will follow in the church.
