Judy R. (Grey) McElravy

Judy R. McElravy, 78, of South Bend, Indiana passed away at 5:34 a.m. Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, IN.

She was born on April 17, 1943 to the late Thomas L. and Eleanor R. (Pierce) Grey in Montgomery, West Virginia and has lived in South Bend since 1964.  Along with her parents; she was also preceded in death by her husband, Randall “Randy” McElravy; and one sister, Roslyn Gail Budzinski.

Judy worked as an Assessor for St. Joseph County in South Bend, IN for 10 years, before retiring.  Prior to that, she worked at Raes Ceramics in South Bend, IN for 15 years and also Erica’s Craft and Sewing Center in South Bend, IN for 15 years.

On January 19, 1962, as Judy R. Grey, she married Randall “Randy” McElravy at the First Baptist Church in Kittaning, Pennsylvania.  He died on December 3, 2017.

Judy is survived by her children, Laura (Andy) McDaniel and Scott (Stephanie) McElravy; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Patsy (Gene) Howard; one brother, Thomas (Belinda) Grey; and a brother-in-law, Thomas Budzinski.

Judy enjoyed sewing, painting, and flowers.       

Visitation will take place from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 15, 2021 and from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, IN.

Funeral Services will take place at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Kaniewski Funeral Home, South Bend, IN with Rev. Donald Bayne, Jr. officiating.  Cremation will follow.
