Johnneen "Jody" F. (Rogers) Mossell

Johnneen “Jody” F. Mossell, 71, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 9:33 a.m. Friday, November 10, 2023 in her home.

She was born on April 26, 1952 to the late John F. and Arloa M. (Hutton) Rogers in South Bend, IN and was a lifelong area resident.  Along with her parents; Johnneen was preceded in death by her husband; infant daughter, Jadee Beth Mossell in 1994; and two brothers, Charles and Ronald Rogers, Sr.

Johnneen graduated in 1970 from Clay High School in South Bend.  She then attended I.U.S.B, where she graduated in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and then received her Masters of Science in Elementary Education in 1976.

She worked as a Retail Sales Clerk at Ayr-Way Department Store/Target at Town & Country Shopping Center in Mishawaka, IN for 14 years. Johnneen then worked from 1996 until 2017 in guest services at the University Park Mall in Mishawaka, IN, before retiring in 2017.  Johnneen was also the co-owner of US's Ceramics.

On April 6, 1990, as Johnneen F. Rogers, she married Richard M. Mossell, who passed away on October 9, 2016.

Johnneen is survived by six nieces and two nephews; numerous great nieces & great nephews; and numerous great-great nieces & great-great nephews.

She loved ceramics; doing plastic canvas crafts; and collecting apple items.

Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Dr., South Bend, IN, where Funeral Services will follow at 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home.  Burial will take place in Sumption Prairie Cemetery, at a later date.
