John A. Bishop

John A. Bishop, 64, of South Bend, Indiana passed away on Friday, December 6, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 24, 1960 in South Bend, Indiana to Edward J.and Marcia (Was) Bishop, Sr. He was preceded in death by his mother Marcia and his father and mother-in-law, John and Gloria Rzepnicki. On August 2, 1986 in St. Adalbert Catholic Church, John married Deborah A. Rzepnicki who survives him. John is also survived by one daughter, Jaime (Eric) Colburn of Mishawaka, Indiana, one son, Matthew (Hilary) Bishop of Richland, Michigan, two grandchildren, Jaxson and Wyatt Colburn, two sisters, Theresa (Bryan) and Ginny (Rick), seven brothers, Wayne (Cathy), Rick (Nancy), Ken (Pam), Brian (Lisa), Tom (Mari), Bob, and Ed Jr. (Patti), brother-in-law Mike (Lisa) Rzepnicki, twenty four nieces and nephews, thirty eight great nieces and nephews and one great great nephew.

A visitation for John will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Dr. South Bend, IN from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, December 13, 2024 at the funeral home with visitation for one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Glioblastoma Foundation in John’s honor.
