Joe Miller Wilson, 86, went home to be with his Lord and Savior surrounded by family September 18, 2022.
Joe was born on March 10, 1936 in South Bend, Indiana to Joe Murphy & Martha Alice (Miller) Wilson.
Joe is survived by his wife Diana, his two daughters with his first wife Bea Minich, Tamara Bettinger (Wilson) of Phoenix, Arizona and Karen (Joe) Treesh of Mill Creek, Indiana. Diana’s children Jeremy (Jenny) Denham of Syracuse, Indiana, Philip (Tina) Denham of South Bend, Indiana, Elaina (Glenn) King of North Liberty, Indiana, Adam (Heather) Denham of Travis Air Force Base, California, and sister, Ellen (Dick) Garst of Peoria, Arizona. Together 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He loved the Lord and spending time with those he loved. He also loved to farm and farmed for decades. He delighted in teaching young people about farming and farm equipment. After retired from farming he divided his time between restoring antique tractors, building things from cabinets to metal work.
He was a member of Sauktown Church of Christ for 65 years. He served as Deacon, Elder, board member, Trustee and Sunday School Teacher. He served in the National Guard for 6 years.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Joe & Martha Wilson, daughter Marsha Spicer, grandson Alexander Spicer, his second wife Cynthia “Jill” (DePoy) Wilson.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life visitation and service at Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, Indiana, 46628. Visitation will take place from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. E.D.T. Friday, September 23, 2022 and from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. E.D.T. Saturday. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. E.D.T. Saturday, September 24, 2022.
In lieu of flowers Joe requested donations be made to Sauktown Church of Christ.
