Joan L. Kramer

Joan L. Kramer, 96, of South Bend, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 in her home. Joan was born on May 28, 1929 in Benton Harbor, Michigan to Victor and Edna (Redman) Pethick.  She had lived in South Bend since 1950, coming from Benton Harbor, Michigan.  Joan retired in 1990 from the University of Notre Dame where she was employed in the Telecommunications Department for 23 years full time and 10 years on call.  On August 1, 1952 in South Bend, she married John Kramer, who preceded her in death on September 29, 2001.  She was also preceded in death by her son, Timothy Kramer; her sister, Dorothy Gargano; and her brother, Victor Pethick.  Joan is survived by her son, Christopher Kramer of South Bend, Indiana.  There will be no services.  Cremation has taken place according to Joan’s wishes.  Joan was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and a former member of Four Lakes Country Club.  Memorial Contributions should be directed to The Center for Hospice Care. Kaniewski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
