Joan L. Hough

Joan L. Hough, 91, of South Bend, Indiana passed away at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, May 15, 2021, in the Center for Hospice Care, Mishawaka, Indiana.  She was born on September 29, 1929 in South Bend, Indiana to Sylvester and Pauline (Strozewski) Kukla, and was a lifelong resident.  She had been employed as a Keypunch Operator at the former The Associates Company for 16 ½ years.  On June 30, 1962, in St. Patrick Church, she married Harold “Dean” Hough, who preceded her in death on August 27, 2014.  She was also preceded in death by her son, Robert W.  Stoynoff; her granddaughter, Cheri Lynn Stoynoff; and her sister, Loretta Kukla.  Joan is survived by her son, Michael E. Stoynoff of South Bend, Indiana; her daughter-in-law, Phyllis Stoynoff of South Bend, Indiana; two granddaughters, Jessica (Steve) Cox and Adrienne Hough; and two great-grandchildren, Julian Cox and Mia Cox. A Catholic Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 21, 2021 in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, Indiana.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.  A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.  Joan was a 1947 graduate of South Bend Central High School.  She was a member of St. Patrick Parish where she served as an Eucharistic Minister.
