Obituary
Joan B. Voorhies, 92, of South Bend, passed away on Tuesday September 12, 2023, at the Milton Home, South Bend. She was born on April 25, 1931, in South Bend, to the late Herbert and Alfreda (Macht) Goffeney. Joan was also preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Bukowski and her husband Donald J. Voorhies. She is survived by her daughter, Luann (William) Oppenheim and her son Jack Bukowski, both of South Bend, four grandchildren; Cara (Scott) Barnes, Daniel (Jamie) Oppenheim, Kelly (Tim) Hawkins and Jared Bukowski and by seven great-grandchildren; Megan and Will Barnes, Riley, Brady and Ben Oppenheim, Georgianna Hawkins and Kanyon Bukowski. Joan worked as a Medical Receptionist for Dr. Nelson in South Bend for 25 years. She enjoyed Notre Dame football and was an avid follower of Notre Dame women's basketball.
