Janet Flora Greene

Janet Flora Greene, 95, of Flat Rock, North Carolina, formerly of New Carlisle, Indiana, passed away at 2:18 a.m. Friday, November 20, 2020 in Caring Cottage Senior Living.  Janet was born on September 26, 1925 in New Carlisle, Indiana to Frank and Viola (Bunch) Gay.  She had lived in California all of her adult life. Janet had been employed as a Registered Nurse, retiring in 1952.  On April 27, 1949 she married Harold Ford Greene. He passed away on November 26, 2014.  They had been married for sixty-six years. They had one daughter, Linda  (Warren H.) Anderson who resides in Indio, California.  Janet is also survived by her grandchildren, Jana (Andres) Luna of Redlands, California, Ryan Anderson of Kaysville, Utah, Amanda (Ben) McCarty of Yucaipa, California and Wesley (Shannon) Anderson of Palm Desert, California; her great-grandchildren, Lacy May Anderson, Andres Luna, Mason, Matthew, Maxwell McCarty, Wesley and Autumn Anderson; and three sisters, Mary Ann Swope of New Carlisle, Indiana, Frances Stark of California, and Norma Miller of Washington. In addition to her husband, Janet was preceded in death by her two brothers, Roger and Richard Gay. Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 24, 2020, in the New Carlisle Cemetery, where she will be buried beside her husband. A visitation will take place from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Tuesday in the New Carlisle funeral home. Janet had been a member of the First Baptist Church in Hendersonville, North Carolina. Kaniewski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
